Welcome to Saint Maur International School, Yokohama.

Even before the word ‘international’ was commonly used, the concept existed, as in 1872 members of the business, diplomatic, educational, and missionary communities, representing over fifteen nationalities, were involved in the establishment of Saint Maur, the oldest existing international school in Japan.

Saint Maur International School is noted not only for its academic excellence, but just as importantly, for the pastoral care of its students. Through providing an 'Adult Enrichment Programme', to parents and the wider community, we demonstrate a firm belief and commitment to learning as a life-long pursuit to be enjoyed and cherished.

While academic achievement is encouraged, we also stress good manners, judgment and   the development of each student’s mental, physical, spiritual, social and creative growth, as a means of providing them with the tools they will need to be happy, successful, and effective contributing members of our global society. 

Our multi-national, well qualified and experienced staff, bring with them an abundance of expertise and knowledge in a variety of areas. We invite you, as members of the international community, to unite your efforts with ours so that each child entrusted to our care, regardless of nationality or religious denomination, can receive a quality education based upon respect and a deep understanding and appreciation of people and their differences.
