Saint Maur International School, Yokohama, Japan established in 1872 to provide an education for children of all nationalities and denominations, is the oldest international school in Japan. It is fully accredited by Council of International schools (CIS), and the New England Association of Schools of Colleges(NEASC).
Saint Maur is a co-educational Pre-K through High School which strives to offer a quality education within a caring family environment. Programs and external examinations offered are as follows:
- Pre-school pursues the Montessori system;
- the Elementary School follows the International Primary Curriculum (IPC);
- Secondary School students sit the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), Advanced Placement (AP), and the International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations;
- Students take the PSAT and SAT Reasoning and Subject Tests;
- The Lions-Quest international values and community program is implemented, while special programs to meet the needs of Catholic students are provided;
- Other external examinations include the IOWA Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) and the Trinity International Music Examinations.
Excellent, modern and well-kept facilities enable an impressive range of extra-curricular activities to be offered to students. A unique Adult Enrichment program is offered to parents and community members.
