One of our core beliefs is that all students should have the opportunity to participate fully in both sports and fine arts.
Therefore, practice and performance schedules have been organized so that students do not have to choose between one or the other.
Sports available for Middle School students typically include soccer, basketball, cross-country, track, futsal, and volleyball.
Please visit our Fine Arts section to view the robust opportunities available at Saint Maur.
Robotics, Speech, Brain Bowl, and Math Olympics are among popular extra-curricular activities that complement a wide variety of after school clubs such as Ping Pong, Irish Dance, Handbells, Fashion, Tennis, Handicrafts, Drama, Arts & Media, and Yosakoi Dance. Whether involved in Sports, Fine Arts, or other Activities, Middle School students are able to compete and collaborate with other international schools in the Kanto Plain Association of Middle Schools – our regional league.
Four to five times each year students participate in opportunities to serve the Yokohama community. Over the past two years, the Middle School’s service learning projects have moved toward affinity groupings as students participate in specific areas of interest. Last year, these groups coordinated their efforts to host a “Senior Date,” a morning of special activities for senior citizens from area nursing homes, and a Saint Maur extravaganza which offered a host of organized activities for students in an effort to raise awareness and funds for a local School for the Blind. Our Middle School Friendship Volunteers work with ECOCAP to help fund vaccinations and related supplies to save the lives of children around the world.
