High School News and Events:
FROM THE COLLEGE ADMISSIONS OFFICE
SAT SUMMER INTENSIVE PREPARATION PROGRAMS:
The two best-known worldwide programs which prepare students for standardized college admission tests, such as SAT and TOEFL, are Kaplan and Princeton Review (known in Japan as Agos). Kaplan, with its building near Yotsuya station in Tokyo, will offer an intensive SAT preparation course this summer. Agos, located near Shibuya, will also offer SAT and TOEFL preparation courses this summer. Pamphlets describing these course are outside the Grade 12 classroom on the high school corridor. For further information, please contact Kaplan directly at 03-3238-0171 (telephone) or
http://www.kaplan.ac.jp/index.html (website). Please contact Agos Japan directly at 03-3462-1343 (telephone) or http://www.agos.co.jp (website).
OPEN CAMPUS DAYS AT TAMA UNIVERSITY AND INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY:
Tama University's School of Global Studies, located in Fujisawa, offers a four-year degree, taught in English, with a focus on international relations and global leadership. Open Campus Days, specifically aimed at international school students in Grades 10 and 11, will be held on Friday, 11 June and Tuesday, 15 June 2010, immediately after classes at Saint Maur end. Students will be able to attend classes and meet professors and students. Parents and teachers are also invited. Lunch will be provided for free, along with a 2000 Quo card to cover transportation expenses for all students. Students interested in attending are invited to e-mail Ms. Burgwinkle at international@gr.tama.ac.jp.
International Christian University (I.C.U.), located in Mitaka, western Tokyo, is one of the top choices for higher education among Saint Maur graduates who prefer to remain in Japan. It has comprehensive curriculum which is completely bilingual in English and Japanese, post-graduate study in Japan or any English-speaking country. The best way for students and parents to learn about I.C.U. is to attend one of the Open Campus Days. Theses include sample classes, lectures, and demonstrations; campus tours; and admission information session. Students will be able to talk freely with I.C.U. students and faculty members, as well as individual consultation with administrative staff about student life. Theses Open Campus Days are highly recommended for all students considering I.C.U. as one of their post-Saint Maur options. They are all on Saturdays during the summer: 24 July, 14 August, and 21 August 2010. No advance reservation is required. For further information, see www.icu.ac.jp, call 0422-33-3038, or e-mail to prc@icu.ac.jp.
Pamphlets with more information about both of these events are outside the Grade 12 classroom on the high school corridor.
