From Saint Maur to the UN - Alumna Inspires Future Global Citizens
On Friday April 25, Catherine Hubert Girod, a former student of Saint Maur, paid the school a visit in order to speak to several groups of students across secondary school about her experiences working for several different international organizations such as the Red Cross and the United Nations.
Students were inspired to hear about how Catherine’s career has taken her to places all over the world including conflict zones, as well as the role of international organizations in peacekeeping and peacemaking around the globe.
Catherine also shared her experiences of working with a wide range of people, including refugees from many different countries.
Several students waited around after the sessions to talk with Catherine further, clearly inspired to follow in her footsteps.
This was an invaluable experience for many of our students, who were able to see firsthand where a commitment to being a Life-Long Learner, Moral and Global Citizen can take you in life.
We hope to have Catherine come and visit us again soon!
