Robotics

A multi-disciplinary subject requiring students to apply knowledge from many areas of study.

We recognize the call for more students to begin learning robotics at a younger age so they are more prepared for learning that will occur in future years. Moreover, robotics serves as a supplement to mathematics, science, and technology, as well as an introduction to engineering, that fosters continued development in these core areas.

A dedicated lab and the latest technology

In 2011, Saint Maur opened a state-of-the-art Science Center which houses a robotics laboratory and workspace.

Beginning in Grade 3, Saint Maur students are able to learn basic robotics and programming skills. Students are given the opportunity to compete in the Saint Maur RoboSumo Challenge, which is held every April.

Beginning in Grade 8, students are able to explore more advanced topics through the Lego Mindstorms, VEX IQ and VEX EDR robotics systems.
