The Elementary Student Council (ESSC) recently led a meaningful initiative called “We Love Animals”, which saw students work together to support a local charity, the Kanagawa Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (KSPCA).
Following in the tracks of Mr Ito and former graduates, on June 14, a group of ten Grade 10 and Grade 11 students will travel to Cambodia with Ms Cooney and Mr Crespy to partner with Habitat for Humanity and build a home for a vulnerable family over the course of a week.
The Saint Maur community has once again demonstrated its dedication to compassion and service through its enthusiastic support of the Happy Bags Project. This heartwarming initiative, aimed at bringing comfort and joy to individuals experiencing housing insecurity or homelessness, saw the distribution of about 400 bags during the Christmas and New Year period.
The annual Christmas Toy Drive is a tradition at Saint Maur International School where the community donates presents to the children at the local orphanage in Honmoku. Two of our High School students continued this tradition this academic year, with the aim of bringing Christmas Spirit to the children.
Valentines Day was made much sweeter (no pun intended) with the Valentines’ grams that everyone received. The Valentines’ grams were a massive success, selling over 250 grams in the span of two short weeks. It was truly heartwarming to see that cards were bought by the entire school community, from elementary to teachers and staff.
As we enter the fourth week of our Second Semester, the Saint Maur Charity Committee is proud of its first successful charity projects at the start of 2022 and looks forward to many more to come. The Saint Maur Charity Committee is happy to announce that a new box with donations was sent today to the Philippines in support of Cameleon Association Inc. Philippines.
Throughout the year Saint Maur International School has collected used stamps in support of RSPB to help raise urgently needed funds for the Albatross Appeal.
On the 22nd of April, the Elementary School students spent the day creating artwork out of plastic bottles and recyclable materials to celebrate Earth Day.
After hearing about the hardships that the homeless people in our neighbourhoods are facing under the harsh conditions of the cold season, the Middle School Student Council decided to help out.
It has become a tradition at Saint Maur International School, that every year high school students collect toys and donations to surprise the children of a local orphanage with presents around Christmas time.
Two of the Grade 10 students at Saint Maur International School have initiated a charity project in December 2020 and collected donations of cash and sanitary products for women who are homeless or receive a low income and therefore lack access to feminine hygiene products.
