It's a wrap for the 2020 Cross-country season!

On Wednesday 4 November and Friday 6 November, the high school Junior Varsity, middle school and high school Varsity teams travelled to Ajinomoto Stadium and Niiza Sports Complex for the final races of the season.

And what a season! Cut shorter to only two races for the reasons we know, it saw our Cougars competing on a 400-metre track… A far cry from their usual cross-country experience at Tama Hills! That being said, the team is incredibly grateful to the Athletic Directors who pulled their resources together in these difficult circumstances and gave our athletes an opportunity to run competitively this year too.

Throughout September and October, and up until last week, our runners showed great resilience and dedication to the club, despite the lack of the usual incentives. Of course, there was also plenty of the usual camaraderie, team spirit and sense of humour!

We would like to congratulate Akari and big brother Jun for carrying on with the family tradition this year. In the finals, Akari came second in the middle-school girls’ race and Jun finished fourth among the high-school boys.

Congratulations to all our runners; we look forward to a full-length season in 2021, full of races at Tama Hills! Go Cougars!
