Established in 1872, Saint Maur is the oldest international school in Asia and third oldest in the world. The school, which is co-educational, caters to students from age 2 ½ through high school from multi-cultural, and diverse faith & language backgrounds. We provide a quality education within a caring and nurturing family environment, and although traditional in values, are progressive in educational innovation.
Job applicants should be in keeping with and agree to promote the school’s philosophy, goals and objectives, and with the exception of the position for the French School, should apply only if they meet the following requirements:
Qualifications & Experience
- be qualified and hold a teaching credential in the subject(s) they are applying for
- have had a minimum of three or more years of full-time teaching experience within a recognized English-medium educational system, preferably in a multi-cultural setting
- be able to effectively utilize technology within the classroom
- be able to cope with students of mixed abilities some for whom English is not a first language

- provide with the application the name and email contact of at least four people who can testify to their teaching ability, classroom management skills, character, and application suitability as we would like to send our own evaluation form. At least two of the four people should be past employers, one the present employer and one from a current principal or direct manager/supervisor.
Openings for the 2019-2020 School Year starting August
Secondary School
- Full-time Japanese Language A/near native teacher preferably with experience in teaching IBDP.
Elementary School
- Part-time P.E. teacher who has qualifications and experience teaching in elementary through middle school.

Saint Maur International School takes its responsibility towards protecting children and the vulnerable very seriously. As part of our application procedure, the school utilizes a number of means to undertake background checks on job applicants to assure that they are suitable to work with young people, and that they have not harmed, exploited or abused others either emotionally, physically, sexually, or through any means of abuse or deception.Applicants are required to state that they do not, nor have they ever had a criminal record or received a caution/warning notification which would preclude them from working within a school environment or with young children/adolescents.
Should the school, in good faith, offer an applicant a position, and later, either during the application process, issuance of a contract agreement, or during employment, find that the person has not been completely truthful in their application, the school reserves the right to rescind/terminate any verbal or written agreement/contract made. Any breach of trust pertaining to the well-being, emotional, physical or sexual safety of students/others, whether they are associated with Saint Maur International School or not, will result in immediate dismissal and loss of all contractual benefits.
