Habitat for Humanity 2026 - Fundraiser

Following in the tracks of Mr Ito and former graduates, on June 14, a group of ten Grade 10 and Grade 11 students will travel to Cambodia with Ms Cooney and Mr Crespy to partner with Habitat for Humanity and build a home for a vulnerable family over the course of a week.

Through their club work, three students worked to organize a school-wide fundraiser to support this project and raise awareness about housing insecurity and economic inequality in Cambodia. Housing is more than a structure: it provides safety, stability and access to education, all of which are essential for young people to thrive.

This initiative supports Saint Maur’s Essential Outcomes of forming Moral Citizens, Life-long Learners, and Global Citizens. The students are not only learning about global challenges, they are taking responsibility, acting with integrity, and working cooperatively to address social injustice. By contributing, our community helps students turn empathy into action and make a meaningful, positive difference.

The funds raised will go solely towards the donations that each participant has already made to Habitat for Humanity Cambodia, which caps our target at ¥970,000. While we do not expect to reach this amount, every contribution, large or small, supports both the family we will serve and the moral development of the students leading this project.

Donations for this worthwhile cause can be made through the official Saint Maur Charity Committee page; please be sure to type “Habitat for Humanity” in the comment box, otherwise the funds will not be designated for our project.
