Success for Saint Maur Young Scientists
The Cougar Café was buzzing on Friday May 18th as the combined Grade 6 and Grade 7 students set up their posters for the 2026 Middle School Science Fair. Their Science Fair presentations were the culmination of several months of hard work, working in groups on a research question of their own design.

This was an opportunity to draw on the Core Scientific Skills that they had learned throughout the year as well as to push themselves beyond the content of the syllabus. A select group of judges started judging their presentations before students, parents and members of the school community also arrived to see them in action. The Grade 6 judges commented that this year there were some very unique research questions under investigation and that they were supported by some excellent scientific designs and suggestions for improvements.

The Grade 7 judges were amazed by the high levels of preparation by the students and by how much their skills had improved compared to when they participated last year. Everyone was impressed by the enthusiasm of the students and by how welcoming they were to their visitors. A huge ‘thank you’ goes to Ms. Novick and Mr. Chau, for supporting the students for this very successful event
