High School Students Bringing Joy to The Local Orphanage

The annual Christmas Toy Drive is a tradition at Saint Maur International School where the community donates presents to the children at the local orphanage in Honmoku. Two of our High School students continued this tradition this academic year, with the aim of bringing Christmas Spirit to the children.

On the 17th of December, the two High School student volunteers delivered presents to the orphanage which was very emotional for them as they had spent 4 months organizing this project. They were planning to meet the kids in person and have a meet & greet Christmas Party, which unfortunately fell through due to a cluster of Covid cases. However, thanks to the orphanage's cooperation, the students were able to hand a few presents directly to some of the children for which they were very grateful. Seeing the looks of happiness on the children's faces made the long months of preparation completely worth it.

Through this project, our Saint Maur student volunteers were catalysts and conduits of the generosity and kindness of the Saint Maur community, with over 60 people (students, parents and teachers) cooperating through purchasing presents or monetary donations. It was clear to them through this charity that acts of kindness are powerfully meaningful.
