Grade 8 Students Triumph at TjMUN Conference, Navigating Global Issues and Cultivating Diplomacy

Over the last weekend of January, a group of Grade 8 students had a remarkable opportunity to engage in the inaugural TjMUN conference. Across two immersive days, they assumed the roles of various countries, delving into intense discussions on global issues.

One focal point was the rural-urban divide in different nations, leading to impassioned debates and the formation of two blocs striving to devise separate solutions, with delegates ultimately voting for the most compelling resolution. Another key topic explored during the conference centered on human rights worldwide, challenging our students to understand how countries with different perspectives collaborate to reach common ground.

Reflecting on their experience, our students shared their insights: “I find it fascinating that delegates often need to advocate opinions that differ from their personal beliefs.” “I enjoyed the lively debates and discussions, which not only enhanced my critical thinking but also improved my writing skills.” "Participating in Model United Nations was a captivating way to learn about international cooperation and proved to be an inspiring experience for me."
