May we take this opportunity to thank those of you who have been depositing used stamps in the box situated outside of the HS-4 classroom which is situated in the High School/office corridor. The stamps are sent to the R.S.P.B. organization in the U.K. who utilize the revenue from the sales of the stamps to support the plight of the Albatrosses. The Saint Maur Art department would like to invite you to the final exhibitions of the Grade 12 IB Visual Arts students. The students have prepared for these exhibitions over the course of the past two years. The exhibitions contain a large variety of media, including animation, oil painting, digital art, photography, sculptures and architectural models. On Monday 19th of March, a group of 21 IB Biology students from Saint Maur International School led by Ms Novick and Dr Erard visited the Yokohama Campus of RIKEN (Rikagaku Kenkyūsho, 理化学研究所), a multidisciplinary research organization that is engaged in a broad variety of research within natural sciences. This summer 25 high school students will be joining the Vienna Music Tour organized by the Music Department. The students joining the music trip will be performing in the IB/IGCSE Music Recital starting from 5 PM in the school auditorium. The PSG and the Welcome Committee are very happy to invite you for another great event! The cherry blossoms may be gone but keep the hanami spirit and come to our Sakura Party at Negishi Park next Sunday, April 8th! The Seventh Annual O’Keeffe Irish Dance Celebration took place on Thursday, March 15th, in the Saint Maur Fine Arts Auditorium with more than 30 students from Gr. 1 – Gr. 12 performing.  Parents, teachers and friends joined this celebration which began with the High School students performing the Irish Dance with hard shoes.  This dance is similar to tap dancing and our students staged an outstanding presentation. On Saturday, 10th of March, Saint Maur teams from the Grade 7 and Grade 8 Computer Science & Robotics classes attended the Yokota Robot Rumble competition. Students were required to compete in three main sections, which tested programming, driver control and teamwork. The events were autonomous Tagbot, collaborative Save the Earth Relay and team-based World Cup Soccer. RoboSumo Challenge will occur on Saturday, April 14 this year. As in previous years, we would like teams to arrive at 9am for registration - with the first matches starting at 10am.
