Saturday 22nd of April was the 10th Anniversary of the Saint Maur RoboSumo competition. This friendly event has traditionally taken place between YIS and Saint Maur, but this year we were pleased to also have Yokota Middle School, K. International School and Seisen International School join us too.
A total of 55 students took part in the event, making up 24 teams and playing a total of 142 matches between them. It was a non-stop fun filled day.

Students were also able to share their ideas and learn about the research of other students from Japan, Singapore, and Canada. Following the proceedings, students assisted to a 1-hour presentation by Nobel Prize winner Professor Makoto Kobayashi on Particle Physics.

May 2016 IB Results
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Examinations are held every May over a three week period. This past May, 52 students sat IB exams, 31 of whom were Grade 12 Full Diploma Candidates. Sixteen Grade 11 students completed the Math SL course as an anticipated subject.

The digital bus clock displayed bold red numbers - 5:45, the time, we, the members of the 2016 Brain Bowl team were told to arrive at school. The bus soon filled with bleary-eyed, drowsy students and we set off on the long trip to Yokota Air Base - the site of that day’s battle.
