MS Girls Volleyball Season Summary

Congratulations to Saint Maur alumna Madoka Nishina (Class of 2016), who has successfully completed her Bachelor's degree in Economics from Keio University, graduating with a Summa Cum Laude distinction, awarded to the highest achieving college graduates each year.
In keeping with our school's philosophy of integrated approach to teaching through all grade levels, the Science Department recently welcomed the two Grade 1 classes for a special introdction to the Origin if Life on Earth.
Our IB Biology teacher and Saint Maur alumna, Anna Novick, was interviewed by the Tokyo Alumni Podcast and takes us on that journey of what it was like for her growing up as a third culture kid in the small town of Hayama in Japan, where she attended local Japanese school from kindergarten through 9th grade as the only redhead among 500 kids.
This month, our middle school students are joining with aspiring novelists around the world by participating in National Novel Writing Month. During National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo for short, in an event in which writers commit to writing every day with the goal of completing a draft of a novel by the end of the month. Our students are participating in NaNoWriMo during English class while improving their writing skills.
As every year, the students of the French Section represented the school during the Commemoration of the end of the First World War at the Yokohama Foreigners' Cemetery.
On Wednesday 4 November and Friday 6 November, the high school Junior Varsity, middle school and high school Varsity teams travelled to Ajinomoto Stadium and Niiza Sports Complex for the final races of the season.
The MS Boys Soccer season has ended on a high note with the team beating local rivals YIS 3-1 in the end of season tournament at YCAC on the weekend.
This weekend our Varsity Girls Volleyball Team travelled back again to ASIJ to play in our final tournament for the year. We’re very grateful to ASIJ for hosting us as it has meant we’ve played a lot more games than we otherwise would have.
On Wednesday 28th October, nine enthusiastic young scientists aged 6 to 10 made their way from the French Section to the Chemistry Lab in the Science Centre.
The Saint Maur Girls Varsity Volleyball Team travelled to ASIJ over a two day period on the 16th and 17th of October to compete in the annual Yujo Tournament.
The Saint Maur International School high school drama club presents a new adaptation of Agatha Christie's "Murder on the Orient Express" Wednesday 11 Nov to Friday 13 Nov at 5 pm, Saturday 14 November at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. with alternating casts.
